Calibrating Your Battery

Postby jkbuster » February 16th, 2011, 10:59 am

If you are having trouble with your battery, the first thing that you should try to fix it is to calibrate it. Here's the steps for a basic calibration:

  1. Make sure that your computer is COMPLETELY charged before you begin.
  2. Unplug your computer and use it until it puts itself to sleep because the battery is dead. Use it constantly or set it not to go to sleep due to inactivity, so that it is always on for this period of time.
  3. Once the computer turns itself off, just close the lid and let it sit for at least an hour to make sure that the battery is completely discharged.
  4. Without turning on the computer, plug it back in. Let it charge until it is FULLY charged.
I'd recommend leaving it plugged in for at least an hour after the charging light goes off to ensure that the battery is fully charged.

Your battery should now be calibrated. If you are still having trouble, please post the problem on this forum under a new topic.
