 Tablet refusing to start

So here is the story: last night I was using my tablet for a little while, then packed it up. I wasn't sure if I was going to use it again soon so I left it in standby. Then this morning I go to bring it out of standby and the screen stays black. Turns out if I hit the screen with the pen it turns on so I figure it's just the usual thing where the monitor gets turned off after a certain period of inactivity, although it's weird that bringing it out of standby didn't turn on the monitor (I was certain it was on standby because the light was blinking initially and also when I checked later the battery was still full). So I enter my password with the keyboard, but the screen is sideways, which doesn't bother me because I'd been writing on it the previous night when I put it on standby. For about 1.5 seconds, it logs into Windows normally, I get to see my background (still sideways), and the battery indicator in the system tray is full. Then it flashes off for a second, like it's finally figured out which direction I'm using it in an has decided to rotate the screen. Then faint to dark red and blue stripes are drawn vertically down my screen and everything is frozen. I try ctrl-alt-del, nada. As I'm waiting over the space of 2 minutes the red and blue lines start to fade out until the screen is mostly black. I try ficking the power switch very briefly and hitting the monitor button next to it (I don't know that either of these strategies would have done anything under any circumstances but I thought it wouldn't likely hurt since the computer is already frozen). So giving up I just hold down the power switch to force it off. Since that happened every time I try to turn on the tablet, nothing appears to happen. The green light turns on, and there is the brief low-volume whine that it makes when it turns on, and then it fails to make any noise or display anything. So far I've tried it with or without the keyboard attached, plugged in or not plugged in (battery shows as being full according to LEDs on bottom), and I also plugged it into another monitor in the hopes that the problem just had something to do with the display. I've also left it on for 10 minutes to see if anything would happen, and I intend to try taking out the battery at some point since that's the only simple power-supply issue I haven't really looked at.

Any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Possible Cause

The TC 1100's have a history of intermittent display faults and it appears that this is the case. Please return this to TICC for examination and we should be able to give you a better diagnosis.

Hello,
Search the web for the tablate problems.
Anywaysss
Seems typical.
Remove all power from the tablet, (Battery and ac-adaptor) and then press and hold down the power button for 35-45 seconds.repower and it should be ok .
Its somehing to do with the static buildup in the tablet, esp if it has a metal body like the tx1000 series. So you are basically letting the excess electric buildup drain away.
You could try this troubleshooting first if you have any other problems such as lanjack not working etc.
Its funny that your Tablate tech guy didn't recc this step as a first step. The tablet series is prone to this issue. *frowns*
